Meditative

Sunday classes have been ongoing for almost ten years now!

We practice on Zoom from fall to spring and from spring to fall, depending on weather, we're at Grant Park in Royal Oak, Michigan.

Sunday Mornings

MEDITATIVE YOGA PRACTICE

ALL EXPERIENCE LEVELS WELCOME
A blend of restorative and strengthening yoga postures - we open and close practice with yogic chanting, listen or chant along. While we will practice strengthening exercises, we'll also make time for play and exploration of longer held postures to make noticeable differences in the body and mind. Slowing the breath, the body, the thoughts, we honor nature's ability to restore and heal.

This practice naturally helps us slow it all down and relax which slows the mind.  As the mind slows, we practice being awareness, aware of what is inside, what is outside, taking all that comes as it is without the entertainment.  The mind comes into a more restful state this way and our experiences get deeper and deeper.  In rest, the body is able to restore and regenerate.

YOGA is a system for self-transformation. The physical practice of yoga postures, which incorporate focus and concentration, help tone, strengthen and increase flexibility in both body and mind. This class is open to all levels, including beginners and the advanced.

You are encouraged to find your level of challenge through postures and breath. Your yoga practice will help you release tension and facilitate a deep relaxation while strengthening both body and mind.

The practice of Yoga entails practicing awareness, being awareness, watching and witnessing. To provide an appropriate level of challenge for each person, you will be reminded to stay aware and in-tune with your body as you honor where you are at right now. Modifications are suggested for each posture to meet different levels of experience.
